Are you ready to learn a new way of floral design where the flowers guide your arrangements?

To practice Heartfelt Floristry is the secret to achieving soft, romantic, effortless arrangements. The closer you become to the flowers, the better you become at discovering each flower’s needs. What unfolds is a fascinating journey where floristry has nothing to do with being mechanical, but instead is guided by the flowers themselves.

I have developed this online course to teach this way of designing. The videos are designed for you to watch and re-watch, developing your own style along the way. Each module has accompanying resources and how-to guides that will help you with the concepts.

In addition, we will meet weekly for four weeks to discuss the concepts in the videos, work on things that you find challenging, and make connections with other students practicing HEARTFELT FLORISTRY.

Module 1
CREATING A CENTERPIECE

In this module, Gabriela will guide you step-by-step through a centerpiece arrangement using the 4-steps to practice what she calls 'Flowers From The Heart'. She will discuss things like color palettes and how the attributes of each flower add texture and movement to your arrangement.

Module 2
TABLE STYLING

In this module, you will further develop your skills in designing a centerpiece arrangement. Gabriela will add to the concepts you have learned in Module 1 by teaching you how to style a table with satellite arrangements and other elements. She finishes this class by discussing how to package arrangements for transporting.

Module 3
HAND-TIED BOUQUETS

In this module, you will learn how to design a hand-tied bouquet using Gabriela's simple threading technique that teaches you how to support the flowers. She will discuss how to process flowers and how to source them locally. Included in this module are several bouquet recipes and tips on how to practice stress-free.

Module 4
WEDDING FLORALS

In this module, you will learn how to make a romantic, effortless and soft white bridal bouquet. Gabriela teaches you a stem-holding technique to create a lush, romantic wedding bouquet. This module also includes how to plan the production of florals for a wedding, including how to create an agenda for your team.

Module 5
LARGE-SCALE ARRANGEMENTS

In this module, you will learn the details that go into a large-scale arrangement. Gabriela will teach you how to select branches and how to construct these masterpieces on sight. She also shares her favorite foliage and flowers for these statement pieces.

Module 6
HOW TO GROW DAHLIAS

In this module, Gabriela shares her small, inspiring garden and how she grows her own flowers for designing. She focuses on teaching you how to grow one of her favorite flowers, the dahlia. This module includes favorite varieties, how to grow dahlias, and how to dig and store tubers.

Weekly Zoom sessions:
Group Zoom Series

In these weekly Zoom meetings, you will meet with Gabriela and other students from around the world. The discussion, growing and designing with flowers, is largely driven by the topics that the group would like to discuss further.
