Featuring Dahlias // 2 - day Garden Workshop at Valle de Bravo, Mexico

Come and be inspired by Gabriela’s one-of-a-kind garden, where you will be mesmerized by nature’s beauty. Learn how flowers grow and how to express the traits of their lifecycle in your floral designs. We will share lunch together each day and share the practice, value, and sensibility of HEARTFELT FLORISTRY.

Maybe you want to be encouraged to create beautiful arrangements for your home or you are a floral designer looking for inspiration. Either way, this workshop is for you. All levels are welcome. Gabriela teaches the workshop in both English and Spanish.

Tuesday, September 24, 10:00 am to 4:30 pm
You will take a garden tour where Gabriela will discuss her floral journey. She will teach you how she chooses her flowers for a design. You will learn hands-on how to create a sustainable centerpiece and get one-on-one input from Gabriela as she guides your individual floral style.

Throughout the day, the group will discuss growing your own flowers, sourcing flowers from other growers and/or flower markets when needed.

Wednesday, September 25, 10 am to 4:30 pm
Central to HEARTFELT FLORISTRY is the value of learning from each other. We will open this day with a group discussion to learn more about each other and our own floral journey.

Gabriela will demonstrate how she constructs large statement piece using dahlias. We will continue the day with a guided hands-on tutorial on how to create hand-tied bouquets.

The day’s discussion will be about making flowers a way of life. This transparent conversation puts everything out there for students to consider how to use flowers as a source of income if they choose. We discuss how to quote an event and manage expenses, how to implement and direct a team, how to pack your arrangements for transport, what to bring to an event, and more.
